"25 Things"

So everyone on facebook is all about the 25 things forward and tag right now.  I'm bored in the library on a Friday afternoon waiting for the traffic to lessen so I can go home, so shoot, here it goes.

1. My favorite dessert in the entire world is ice cream.  Some of you may know that I once had a blog all about it. haha.  My favorite candy is jellybelly jelly beans.  :-)

2. Sad movies or tv episodes, or even a few songs can make me cry.  My family relentlessly teases me about this.  However, I can't remember the last time I cried at a funeral.  So I don't know what that means.

3. I have a long-term goal to run a 10k, and then a half-marathon, which I think I may actually accomplish this year.  *fingers crossed*  Maybe someday after I accomplish these goals, I'll think about a marathon.

4. I want irreconcilably different things out of life.  Part of me would be happy with a bunch of animals, on a sizable piece of property, renovating a Victorian house.  The other part of me never wants to be tied down to any place so I can see the world.  Hopefully I will find some happy compromise when I grow up.  (I don't feel like a "grown-up")

5. I want to travel much much much more than I have.

6. Sometimes I wish I had joined the peace corps instead of going to grad school after undergrad.  Maybe some day I'll re-consider it after I pay back these pesky student loans.

7.  My internship last semester was the single best work experience I've ever had.  I would do it again given the opportunity.

8.  I finally have confidence in my Russian speaking and comprehending abilities.  It took me a long time to develop it, but I am so glad that I am here.  There's only one direction to go from here, and that's up.

9.  I was raised Catholic, but I don't know how I feel about believing in God.  It's something I think about every day, and maybe someday I'll find the answer.

10.  I consider several people to be my close friends.  I've always had a problem with the concept of best friend, because I feel like we show varying aspects of ourselves to different people, and that we change, or our friends change over time.  So I would say I have different people that I confide different things to.

11.  I've probably changed more in the past 3 years than I did all throughout high school and college.  I've always been somewhat of a late bloomer, I guess.

12. I like Rockband a lot, not simply b/c it's fun, but for the first time in my life I am actually singing the right words to the songs!!!! But yes, I typically sing even when I don't know the words.

13.  I raised a lot of animals during my childhood, which gave me a lot of entertaining stories, anecdotes, and unused (not useless) knowledge during adulthood.  I think my animals made me a more responsible person.

14.  I am fairly naive, despite my 25 years of existence.  I don't know when I'll ever catch on.

15. I am fairly bad with directions.  Hence the fact that my dad bought me a GPS device for my birthday last year.  I think he was tired of me calling him to google things.  In Russia, one of the other interns couldn't read Russian, so I would translate the map, and she would navigate.  It worked out well.

16.  I like dancing a lot.  I am thinking about taking swing dancing lessons soon, possibly Blues too.

17.  My favorite books are (in no particular order): How to Kill a Mockingbird, Master and Margarita, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, The Fountainhead, Lines of Fate, Farewell to Arms, The Awakening, and Everything is Illuminated.  My favorite children's books are The Chonicles of Narnia.  However, I remember reading a lot of scary books about ghosts and stuff as a kid, so maybe that's why I am incredibly frightened by scary movies today.

18.  I haven't seen any classically scary horror films.

19.  I also tell people that I am pop-culturally challenged.  We grew up without cable tv, so a lot of references are lost on me.  But I am catching on.  I learned who the Material Girl is last year.  So there's hope yet.

20. My great grandpa and my grandpa are the same age: 92. Explanation: one is my dad's grandfather and the other is my mom's dad.  My grandpa had 12 kids...I have a really really large extended family.

21.  My next language to conquer is Serbian, I hope.  I would love to go to the Balkans...

22.  I may go to law school one day, or get a ph.d. I haven't decided which one.  It's too far in the future to determine just yet.

23.  I like giving people presents.  I hope they like them.

24.  I used to be incredibly introverted, but now am quite extro in certain ways.  I think that is why I haven't been able to read as diligently as I used to.

25. I am incredibly indecisive.  Just ask my sister.

26. I pretend to be spontaneous.  But I think the indecisiveness negates the spontaneity.  That's probably for the best.

2. I am a rebel rule-breaker.  Hence the extra things. :-)

2.  I think I am really really funny.  But most people don't seem to get it.  My sister has explained to me several times that I truly am not, but I still don't believe her.
